My lack of writing this past month has had to do nothing with a lack of new things, experiences, and testimonies the Lord has walked me through, but more of a lack of intentional time on my part. So now I am sitting in the ATL Airport with Miss Lilly Renn, we are recovering from a FULL week of PSL and trying to stay awake enough to make it onto the flight to Denver CO.

I could write about being home, its been about a month now and it has been everything I expected and at the same time filled with experiences I didn’t see coming. It has left me with questions that I have only been able to answer by going to the Father with a receptive heart postured to being obedient even when I am called to the things I didn’t want to do.

It would be an absolute lie if I told you I liked doing hard things. I will do them, and I see the abundance of blessing and profitability in them.

I like the fun things. The adventurous. The joyful. The unique. The creative. The beautiful. The things filled with the Lord. I especially love the things in life where the Lord’s presence is abundant, evident, and on display for the world to take in.

So, I guess if the last statement is true, then the first must not be.

Because He is in the hard things. He makes them fun. Adventurous. Joyful. Unique. Creative. Beautiful.

He was in the hard that was reentry. He was in the hard that was being told to wait. He was in the hard that was being told not in this season.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

The Lord asks those who are weary and burdened to come to Him. He doesn’t say, if on the off chance it happens.

He says, I know you my children and when the burdens of this world, that you have yet to throw off at the foot of the cross weigh you down, come to Me, the King of Kings, Creator of the Universe, because I will take those from you.

So I’m learning to love these new hard things. This new season of what hard looks like on a different mission field.
