It is sort of crazy to think that in three months this squad is going to hop on a plane and head out of the country. This past month has been full swing fundraising! Tomorrow is the 25% goal deadline and I am so excited and blessed to have exceeded it!
Fundraising has been something that has been a cause of a little bit of anxiety! Part of my personality wants to to jump in and do this all myself, plan fundraisers and tackle it all at once. But I know that isn’t how God works. Nowhere in the Bible does He say, go do it yourself and then come back and show the results.
I am reminded of Colossians 3:23-24
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ”
Yes I am going to have to put in the work for fundraising, but there is a bigger plan here. I am going to have to work with God and for God in this process. This fundraising is going to be an opportunity to raise money for this trip, but also talk to people. Connect with them and share how God is working in my life and what this trip means.
These verses remind me that no matter what I’m working toward I should be doing it first and foremost to serve the Lord.
So yes there is still a lot more fundraising to do before my next goal, about $1,800 to my next goal of 50% funded by 10/29, but still so much opportunity to lean into God during this season and cast my anxieties to Him. An opportunity to be confident in what He has called me to and step into this with faith, steadfast patience, and excitement for what He has set before me!
